Father's Day

Dear Fathers in St. Augustine of Canterbury Parish,

Each of you is St. Joseph of each of our families.

Sunday, June 20, 2021 is Father’s Day. We are very honoured and motivated to

celebrate the talents and inspirations you generously and humbly share with

members of each of our families. It is often said that when a Dad inspires his

children the family gets inspired ten times. You are truly our Guardian Angels.

Continue to lead each family with resilience, patience, wisdom, perseverance,

hope, love, courage, strength and faith.

As we celebrate Father’s Day 2021 with the protection of the Sacred Heart of

Jesus in June, and with the intercession of St. Joseph, may the Lord bless each

Father with good health, joy, grace, prosperity and long life:

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,

who walk in obedience to him.

You will eat the fruit of your labor;

blessings and prosperity will be yours.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine

within your house;

your children will be like olive shoots

around your table.

Yes, this will be the blessing

for the man who fears the Lord.

May the Lord bless you from Zion;

may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem

all the days of your life.

May you live to see your children’s children-

peace be on Israel. (Psalm 128)

May St. Joseph obtain special favours for each father:

Good Saint Joseph, ever watchful guardian of the Holy Family, protect the

chosen people of Jesus Christ, keep us free from the blight of error and

corruption, and be our ally in the conflict with the powers of darkness. As of old

you rescued the child Jesus from the plots of Herod, so now defend the

universal Church from all harm. Keep us one and all under your continual

protection, so that by your help and example, we may lead a holy life, die a

happy death, and come to possess eternal life in heaven. Amen.

Happy Father’s Day 2021!!!
